Chris Olave is a Top 10 Fantasy Receiver with Derek Carr
Chris Olave has just been gifted an upgrade at quarterback following the addition of Derek Carr to the New Orleans Saints. Although the previous Raider quarterback did not meet expectations in Las Vegas, he is now surrounded by a good offense and backed by a better defense. Because of this, is Olave now a top 10 fantasy receiver in the league this upcoming season? I believe so.
To begin with, Davante Adams finished WR3 in fantasy football this past season. Now, do not get me wrong, Olave has not proved himself to be anything close to Adams’ level. However, that should not discount the fact that Olave is undoubtedly the top wideout on the Saints and should see a huge increase in production. Carr got Adams to finish WR3 and has the potential to lead Olave to be top 10.
Now, you’re probably reading this article questioning why I claim Olave as the Saints’ WR1, while Thomas is still in New Orleans.
To put it frankly, I do not believe Thomas will play another season, at least not a full season. He has only played 10 games in the past three seasons; therefore, Olave should emerge as the WR1, which he did last year after Thomas got hurt … again.
The injury prone Thomas and the new addition of Carr spell out a wonderful situation for Chris Olave fantasy owners, or soon to be owners.
According to Sleeper, Olave only finished as WR25 this past season; however, he was only 48 points away from WR10. To add to that, he missed two games and got pulled out of two more games. With all that being said, the second-year receiver still managed to top 1,000 yards with Andy Dalton and Jamies Winston under center.
Therefore, the Carr addition is going to absolutely skyrocket Olave’s fantasy stock and value. I would buy in as soon as possible.
