Jon Jones continues to diss Francis Ngannou

The rivalry between Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou continues to grow every day. After UFC 285, Jones and Ngannou each threw some gas on the fire. It all started after Ngannou made a condescending tweet after Jones won the UFC heavyweight title against Ciryl Gane.

When asked about Ngannou’s tweet at the UFC 285 post-fight press conference, Jones had a simple response.

“Francis is a big ol’ p—y,” Jones said at the UFC 285 postfight press conference. “I love that quote. I love it. All that muscle with a big-ass p—y.”

Let’s be honest, both Ngannou and Jones are wrong. If Ngannou wants to call himself the heavyweight king, that is a title he needs to defend. I understand that he did not lose the belt in a fight; instead, he lost it when the UFC released him.

With that being said, he only defended that belt once. It isn’t like he had an outstanding resume built up. At the same time, I doubt Ngannou is afraid of Jones. It is more likely that he is looking to spite Dana White and the UFC.

This short spat marks another dispute between Jones and Ngannou. Last week, Jones slammed Ngannou for not taking the fight and he continues to throw more insults his way. I mean, it is easy to see why Jones is frustrated. He missed out on one of the biggest fights of his career when Ngannou decided to leave the UFC.

These back-and-forths are entertaining. It is nice to see Jones break away from his good-guy persona and slide back into trash talk. That only makes a potential between Jones vs. Ngannou more appealing. Prior to Ngannou’s release, that was one of the best fights the UFC could make. If you throw in the possibility of bad blood between the two, the fight only gets more interesting.

I would not completely rule out the possibility of Jones vs. Ngannou. If boxing does not work out for Ngannou, he may opt to make his UFC return. As long as Jones still holds the heavyweight belt, that fight would still be on the table. Still, I would not count on it. Yes, there is a chance, but it is small.
