Ghost owners should be encouraged that’s a real possibility. The Canes made this trade for a reason and have been currently deploying Brady Skjei in that role as of late. Brent Burns is 37 and has fit in comfortably with the second PP role. Ghost figures to take on the PP1 role but as a third pair player at 5 on 5.
Of course, things could change quickly. If Carolina opts to put Burns back in that spot then Ghost’s value takes a plunge. A plunge to the point where he may become droppable. The Coyotes might stink but they don’t get shut out every game. Ghost was putting up respectable fantasy numbers when healthy in Arizona.
I like Gostisbehere’s fantasy potential in Carolina but maybe not to the point where you’re paying an arm and a leg to get him. If an offer makes sense, I would advise grabbing him for your fantasy playoff stretch. As DeAngelo proved last year, this is a great spot to be.
