Aaron Rodgers to the Raiders Seeming More Likely

The Davante Adams trade to the Las Vegas Raiders was one of the largest headlines of the 2022 NFL offseason as eight years of the Aaron Rodgers-Adams connection had seemingly come to an end. Though after both the Raiders and Packers suffered disappointing seasons, this may not be the case. The notion and likelihood that the Packers would trade Rodgers to Vegas is seeming more likely based on the past few days.

Adams seems enthusiastic about the idea of a reunion with his former quarterback. The three-time All-Pro wideout made headlines for a comment he made on Twitter regarding a potential Rodgers trade to Las Vegas.

Rodgers clapped back with headlines of his own after a fan interaction at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The 39-year-old has not even said if he plans to return to football next year. If he does choose to, a reunion with Adams in Vegas would be very compelling.

Packers/Raiders Quarterback Situation Outlook

Both the Raiders and Packers seem to be moving forward with new quarterbacks for the 2023 season. Green Bay will likely role with 2020 first-round pick Jordan Love. Love sat on the bench for three years in almost the exact same fashion as Rodgers did.

Meanwhile, the Raiders’ quarterback situation is definitely much more in question. Las Vegas is expected to release Derek Carr if a trade partner is not found once his current $40.4 million contract becomes guaranteed on Feb. 15. Such a reality does make a Las Vegas-Green Bay exchange for Rodgers much more likely.

While Rodgers has hinted at an impending retirement in the last few seasons, it is hard to imagine him not returning. A reunion with Adams would also be hard to imagine not being successful. The pair combined for more touchdowns than any other quarterback receiver duo in Green Bay history.

With only the Super Bowl left to be played, the 2023 offseason is already ramping up.
