Dave Portnoy Rips Tony Dungy, Al Michaels For Awful Playoff Broadcast

What a comeback. The Jaguars advance thanks to a last second field goal to defeat the Chargers 31-30. It’s the third largest comeback in NFL history after Jacksonville trailed 27-0 at one point. The only problem is even though I bet Jacksonville +2.5, it never felt as thrilling as it could have been based on how bad this broadcast has been. Tony Dungy and Al Michaels have been asleep at the wheel the entire game.

Well, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy had enough. In a series of tweets, he’s making sure that it won’t be forgotten how terrible this broadcast was.

A lot of us in the Vendetta Slack chat had something similar. This broadcasting job by Dungy and Michaels was a total trainwreck. Snozefest city from start to finish.

The worst part is, Michaels made comments earlier in the week talking about how Amazon gave him trash to work with. Well, he just called the third biggest comeback in NFL history so what’s the excuse this time?

“From the Amazon people, nothing but support. I think they understood what this was. We’re making the most of it. I mean, you just can’t oversell something. Do you want me to sell you a 20-year-old Mazda? That’s what you’re asking me to do. I can’t sell you a used car. … I’ve kind of gone down that road a little bit in games that have been bad in the past. But this game was horrifically bad. What were you supposed to do at that point? And away I went.”

Michaels is earning an ungodly amount of money to call these games. Just keep that in mind.

In terms of Dungy, I’ve been calling for him to be off the air for years. When is the last time he made a relevant comment? Show me one. He’s HORRIFIC.
