WWE has reportedly been sold to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund

It was stated Tuesday night in a tweet by Steven Muehlausen that the WWE has reportedly been purchased by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. The tweet also says the company plans on becoming private with many believing Vince McMahon will return to head of creative.

This news has yet to be confirmed by WWE or any other involved parties. These speculative reports have sent the wrestling world into a frenzy with ideas about what could be next for the company. This shocking news came hours after acting Co-CEO and Chairwoman of WWE Stephanie McMahon announced her resignation from the company. Stephanie is the daughter of long time WWE chairman, Vince McMahon, who also recently announced his return to the company despite his retirement in 2022 amongst sexual misconduct allegations.

This has led many fans to speculate that Stephanie McMahon’s husband, Triple H, could also be departing from the company. Triple H is one of the greatest wrestlers in the history of the sport and the current Head of Creative and Talent Relations for WWE.

If these reports end up being true, one can think it will lead to a fiery reaction from the WWE roster. Many superstars have refused to work Saudi Arabian events in the past, so one can only imagine what the reaction to this would be.

WWE has been putting out some of their best product over the last few months. It is no coincidence that the improvement directly began with Vince McMahon’s departure from WWE. McMahon will go down as one of the greatest minds in wrestling history without a doubt, but he is continuously tarnishing his own legacy. If the news is true, who knows what this could possibly mean for the future of WWE and professional wrestling as a whole. Only now, they have somebody waiting to steal the throne.
