Bill Foley Completes Ownership Takeover Of AFC Bournemouth

Bill Foley, the owner of the Vegas Golden Knights, is adding another sports franchise to his portfolio. Foley, along with a minor ownership group that includes Michael B. Jordan, has officially acquired the Premier League franchise, AFC Bournemouth. During the VGK broadcast today, all of the announcers are wearing Bournemouth scarves to celebrate the new partnership.

Black Knight Football Club now take control of the club from the previous owner, Maxim Demin. The club released a statement regarding the news:

“Bill is committed to increased investment in Bournemouth’s first team as well as the academy and fan experience at Vitality Stadium,” the club said in a statement.

“I have tremendous respect for the passion and support the Bournemouth community shows for this club and believe that connection to the community is the foundation for success of any sports team,” Foley said. “We will move forward with an ‘Always Advance, Never Retreat’ approach that has defined all of my endeavors. I am committed to work with the best football and business minds available to enhance player development, facilities and the fan experience to put AFC Bournemouth in the best possible position to succeed.”

Do you want to watch Ryan Reaves read a lineup card? Yes… yes, you do.

Foley has some work to do if he wants to build Bournemouth into a real contender. Bournemouth is currently 14th in the Premier League with 16 points from 15 games. They also sacked Scott Parker as manager in August. Long story short; Foley has his work cut out for him. Probably a lot more so than when he watched his Golden Knights reach the Cup Finals during their inaugural season.
