Cristiano Ronaldo is Done at Manchester United

After his mind-blowing interview with Piers Morgan, Cristiano Ronaldo has been released from his contract with Manchester United.

In the interview with Morgan, Ronaldo had nothing but criticism for Man United and the manager Erik ten Hag. Manchester United took offense to Ronaldo’s comments and rightfully so.

Since the interview, Man United has terminated Ronaldo’s contract immediately and he will not return to his former club following the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Man United released a statement on Tuesday about the end of Ronaldo’s contract. However, there seems to be no sorrow from the team’s point of view.

“The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future,” a statement from Man United read.

This came after Ronaldo explained how the club has not made any progression since Sir Alex Ferguson retired back in 2013. He also mentioned how he has “zero respect” for Man United’s current manager ten Hag.

Ronaldo previously played for Man United from 2003 to 2009. He moved to Real Madrid in 2009 and became the star we now know.

It will be very interesting to see what happens next with the Portuguese international. There have been rumors of him moving to the MLS, but Ronaldo’s mother had her last wish that he goes back to Portugal to play for Sporting Lisbon, the club his career started with.

Things could have gotten ugly between Ronaldo and Manchester United, but the mutual agreement to terminate the contract saved both from a lawsuit.

On Tuesday it was reported that Man United offered Ronaldo to Real Madrid following the injury to Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema.

Ronaldo begins his World Cup campaign on Thursday, November 24 when Portugal faces off against Ghana.
