Jake Paul And Andrew Tate Face Off During Negotiations

Will Jake Paul and Andrew Tate actually box? Paul is in starting to look at opponents for his next boxing match. No, it is not a legit boxer. It’s Tate. Paul shared a video on his Twitter of the pair facing off with the caption, “Negotiations.”

If you are unfamiliar with Andrew Tate, he is a controversial internet star. Tate openly speaks on a variety of issues including masculinity, government, COVID-19 protocols, and more. In addition, he has been under a lot of scrutiny due to misogynistic remarks. As a result, he was banned on almost every mainstream social media platform including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and more.

Prior to his internet fame, Tate sold online teaching courses (which have boomed in popularity since his rise to fame), appeared on Big Brother, and kickboxed. The latter is what makes a boxing match with Paul interesting.

Tate was a legit kickboxer. He won the International Sport Kickboxing Association (ISKA) cruiserweight and light-heavyweight championship before retiring with a 76-9 record. That is impressive as ISKA is a reputable kickboxing organization, but it is not the best in the world. Glory Kickboxing is by far the best kickboxing organization in the world.

Meanwhile, Paul is coming off a victory over former UFC champion Anderson Silva that pushed his boxing record to 6-0.

I would be surprised if this bout got past the negotiation stage. Paul did a great job of explaining why.

“I don’t think he gets in the ring with one of us,” Paul said during an episode of his brother Logan Paul’s “Impaulsive” podcast.

“It’s too big of a risk for him. He’s ‘alpha male,’ right? That’s his whole entire thing. And when he loses — he will lose to either one of us he fights — his whole schtick and all the women will be like, ‘Yeah!’ and his whole schtick goes out the window.”

I may not agree with Paul on a lof things, but he hit a home run here. Tate has built a platform as an ‘alpha male’ tough guy that gives young men life advice. However, if you get knocked out in front of the world it becomes a lot tougher to portray that image.

This fight certainly would not move Paul’s boxing career forward. He just beat Silva, he would clearly knock Tate out. No question in my mind.

It is clear why Paul is interested though. A fight with Tate may result in more pay-per-view sales than other fights he could organize. Still, I imagine that Paul will be angling to fight another MMA legend, like Nate Diaz, or he will get risky and try to take out a legit boxer. Either way, I’d be genuinely surprised if this fight was made official.
