Ryan Reynolds Looking For ‘Sugar Mommy / Daddy’ To Buy Senators

It’s not a secret anymore. In fact, it turns out there is a lot of credence to the report. Ryan Reynolds is very interested in purchasing the Senators. It just may come down to some factors. One of which includes Reynolds search for a ‘sugar mommy / daddy’ to help fund the purchase.

“I am trying to do that,” Reynolds said. “It’s very expensive. I need a partner with, you know, really deep pockets. It’s called a consortium, when you form a group together to buy an entity. It’s a fancy way of saying I need a sugar mommy or sugar daddy.”

“If that doesn’t work out, I’ll buy a U.S. senator, which anyone can afford,” he joked.

“I love Ottawa,” he said. “I grew up in Vancouver, which has my heart always, but I also grew up in Ottawa, in a little town called Vanier.”

A: The I’ll buy a US senator line is hilarious given the timing. Credit where credit is due.

B: The fact that Reynolds has ties to Ottawa really helps his case. It’s already been announced that whoever buys the team has to keep the franchise in Ottawa.

C: Forbes valued the Senators at $525 million last December. I’m sure Reynolds is a rich man but that’s still a lot of cash for one person and only one person to fork over. Reynolds won’t be the sole owner if he buys the team.

I think that covers it, right? If Reynolds does buy the team, it would be great for the league. The real question is if Reynolds does acquire Sens, does that mean we get this dope Deadpool alternate logo as the new look?
