Ryan Reynolds Wants To Buy The Senators
Ryan Reynolds already owns a European soccer team. Now he reportedly wants to add to that pot and buy an NHL team. With the Ottawa Senators on the verge of hitting the open market, the famous Hollywood actor appears to be interested in purchasing the illustrious franchise.
“Ryan Reynolds is very interested in buying the Ottawa Senators should the NHL team ultimately be sold, a source tells PEOPLE.
Beyond the business opportunity, it is important to Reynolds the team stay in Ottawa, as a sale could result in relocation, the source close to the Deadpool actor exclusively explains to PEOPLE.
Oh, we also got this tweet too.
This certainly can’t be viewed as bad news. If Reynolds bought the team, the franchise valuation would certainly increase the valuation and eventually the cap by bringing attention to the Senators. The Wrexham team already has a TV show attached to them. If we get a TV show that follows the Sens like Hard Knocks? Now we’re cooking with peanut oil.
Time will tell what happens here but it appears very likely that the Senators will be sold to someone. The good news for Sens fans is it looks like Reynolds wants to keep the franchise in Ottawa. They really need a new arena too (the Canadian Tire Center has to go as soon as possible) and it would be fascinating to see what kind of quirks Reynolds would implement. Someway, somehow, hopefully, Rob McElhenney will be involved!
