AEW Rumor Roundup (10/10/2022): Moxley done with GCW?
Every week I am going to be running down a list of rumors around the world of AEW. It is important to keep in mind while reading this that these are rumors, nothing has been confirmed.
- Recent reports by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter have stated that Saraya has been cleared by AEW’s Dr. Michael Sampson to return to in-ring competition. Formerly known as Paige, she was forced to retire for medical reasons during her time in the WWE. Signs on television programming have been pointing to a potential match between Saraya and Britt Baker.
- Per Fightful Select, AEW World Champion, Jon Moxley, is done with Game Changer Wrestling for the time being. He recently signed a five-year contract extension with AEW, and it was announced he would only be working with international partners of the company. Moxley is a former GCW World Champion.
- Bandido has reportedly agreed to terms with AEW, per Fightful Select. He made his AEW debut last week taking on current ROH World Champion, Chris Jericho. Despite making his debut, further details regarding the potential contract have yet to be released.
- Fightful Select has reported the potential reason Sammy Guevara was not sent following his backstage altercation with Andrade El Idolo. According to the reports, Guevara did not have any interest in a confrontation with Andrade and might have even tried to prevent it. It was said Andrade was the aggressor in the situation.
- According to Fightful Select, AEW is making a serious push to sign Renee Paquette. Known as Renee Young in WWE, it is said that they are also making a push to get her to return. AEW may have an advantage since she is married to Moxley.
- It is currently believed there are multiple AEW stars who want their release from the company, Andrade El Idolo being one of them. Dave Meltzer recently said on Wrestling Observer Radio, “There’s a few people, not that many. There’s three that want to leave and there are different stories and Andrade is one of them.”
