Buy Low Sell High Fantasy Football 2022 Week 5

Fantasy football Week 5 was a polarizing one. Austin Ekeler had another day, a miss by me from last week’s as I advised you to sell high — albeit I think you still should, as Joshua Kelley and Sony Michel are the goal line backs in this offense. Also, James Conner, a buy low from last week, left early after suffering a rib injury. It was unfortunate because Conner looked like an ideal workhorse before exiting against a stout Eagles defense. With that aside, let’s get into this week’s buy low sell high list.

Buy Low

Amon-Ra St. Brown

Amon-Ra St. Brown was off to an incredible start this season. Last week he suffered a high ankle sprain that limited his snaps and production this week against New England. Jared Goff‘s favorite target should be on everyone’s radar to acquire considering his impressive target share in a surprisingly decent Lions offense. Now, I don’t expect the Lions’ offense to score as heavily as they have thus far, but neither should the St. Brown owner. I’d be hesitant with how much you give up for St. Brown as high ankle sprains can persist for quite some time. However, after a four-catch, 18-yard performance and with the Lions entering their bye week, the St. Brown owner may be reeling.

Najee Harris

Acquiring Najee Harris is all about playing the long game. He’ll be having more down weeks before it gets any better. Jaylen Warren was on the field more this week and outrushed Harris 24-20 against a stout Bills defense. Ahead on the schedule, the Steelers go on to face a gauntlet of defenses consisting of Tampa Bay, Miami, and Philadelphia before entering the bye week. On the plus side, Kenny Pickett is here and will elevate the offense. Coming out of Pittsburgh’s bye week I expect this offense to be more gelled, and Pickett to start dealing. The Steelers will put up numbers eventually and Harris’ numbers will follow. He is a risky buy low sell high option.

Sell High

Dalvin Cook

The fantasy football 2022 Dalvin Cook breakout finally came. I would take this chance to move on. Cook has not had over 100 yards rushing and is losing snaps to Alexander Mattison. This past week Cook and Mattison’s snap counts were 45 and 34, respectively. Mattison also ran more routes and received more targets in the passing game. Minnesota’s up-and-down offense is a roller coaster I don’t want to rely on as a Cook owner. You can sell for incredible value now. Try acquiring Deebo Samuel or A.J. Brown for Cook after his two-touchdown performance.

Rhamondre Stevenson

Trey will hate me for including Rhamondre Stevenson on the buy low sell high list. Don’t get me wrong, I like him as a talent, and he had an incredible game. But considering the circumstances — he faced a porous Detroit Lions defense and Damien Harris left the game in the first quarter suffering a hamstring injury — his 25 carries in a game where the Patriots routed the Lions makes sense. While he looked great rushing for 161 yards, the Patriots didn’t have another running back on the active roster. Harris will be back. Even if not soon, Bill Belichick is not one to give one running back all the work. Rhamondre’s value will never be higher than it is right now.
