Bryce Mitchell And Movsar Evloev Scheduled To Fight On Nov. 5

The UFC has booked a fight between top featherweight prospects Bryce Mitchell and Mosvar Evloev. The fighters have not signed bout agreements, but they did verbally agree to fight on Nov. 5 at a UFC Vegas 64. The news was first reported by David Van Auken.

According to Nolan King, it has not been decided if the fight will be a five-round main event or a three-round main card bout. If needed, both fighters have expressed interest in fighting in a five-round main event.

Mitchell and Evloev are two of the best featherweights in the world. The pair currently sit next to each other in the UFC rankings as Mitchell is No. 9 while Evloev is No. 10.

This bout will be far more impact than most bouts between fighters outside of the top five. Mitchell and Evloev are both elite prospects that have championship-level potential. Do not be surprised if either of these fighters eventually fight for the UFC featherweight championship.

Mitchell is currently 15-0 in MMA and 6-0 in the UFC. At 27 years old, he has impressed throughout his career. His best performance came in his last bout at UFC 272 against Edson Barboza. Mitchell relentlessly out-grappled Barboza on his way to a dominant victory. He even landed a knockdown on the feet too. The fight was so one-sided that Mitchell was awarded a least on 10-8 round on two of the judges’ scorecards. At UFC 272, his bout with Barboza showed that he deserves to be a top ten featherweight.

Evloev’s resume is very similar to Mitchell’s. He too is on the right side of 30 as he sits at 28 years old. Thus far in his MMA career, Evloev has tallied a record of 16-0 with six UFC wins. His marquee win came against Dan Ige at UFC Vegas 56. In that bout, he dominated Ige on the ground and proved that he is a problem for anyone at featherweight.

If you can not tell, Mitchell and Evloev are two of the best grapplers in the featherweight division. This bout should provide a lot of elite wrestling exchanges.

Mitchell and Evloev would be a strong choice for the UFC Vegas 64 main event. As of right now, the card’s only other ranked bout is a fight between strawweights Marina Rodriguez and Amanda Lemos.
