What If Kyrie Irving Is Just The NBA’s Version Of Antonio Brown?

You can’t fix crazy. I’ve learned that lesson the hard way on numerous occasions. Yes, I’m referring to myself in some instances but that’s not the point. The point is nobody needs to be blamed for the Kyrie Irving takes. It doesn’t matter if you support or don’t support Kyrie Irving. What matters is maybe Kyrie Irving is just the NBA’s version of Antonio Brown and the only person we should blame is him.

Some people just can’t be fixed and that’s nobody’s fault. I’ve been on record on numerous occasions defending Kyrie, but can you blame me? The whole point of the NBA is acquiring enough star players so that you can compete for a championship. What the Nets did, the next franchise will do the exact same thing when given the opportunity. They will hand the keys to their star player.

The bottom line is Kyrie had gifts that you and I could only dream of having. His handles are sick. His athletic traits are stupid in a good way. He can shoot with anybody and make shots some wouldn’t dare to take. The reality is Kyrie didn’t achieve what he could have and it’s his fault. Not anybody else’s.

I always think back to that Ryan Clark story when describing Antonio Brown. You better be careful giving that guy money. Kyrie got his money and turned weird. That’s not anyone’s fault except his. I promise that won’t happen to me. Kyrie just went off the deep end.

Maybe we should have seen it coming but how could you? We don’t have access to having conversations with these guys? If anything, the only lesson that should be learned is hockey is just the premier sport. Basketball players don’t actually want to play basketball. They sit out games and then complain that life isn’t fair. Hockey players suit up every night and fight. Some people are just built different. Kyrie is built like Antonio Brown unfortunately and it sucks we never got to see the true potential of his talent.
