AEW Rampage is going to be a packed show. With All Out quickly approaching, feuds are finally coming together for a match. Four matches are announced for the show, and we will hear from a champion. We are also getting exclusive backstage footage of an AEW star. There is a lot that is going to happen, so here’s a preview of what to expect.
We are going to hear from TBS champion, Jade Cargill. She has had her issues with Athena in the past couple of weeks and Athena has made it clear she wants a shot at the TBS title. She has been chasing and tormenting Cargill and the Baddies since arriving in AEW, and Cargill finally retaliated last week. It’s safe to assume Cargill will lay down a challenge for Athena at All Out for the TBS Championship.
Ryan Nemeth gets an opportunity to shock the world and claim the TNT title. Since becoming TNT champion, Wardlow has held various open challenges. This week, Ryan Nemeth answered the call. Wardlow is a true workhorse for the company and having open challenges weekly for the TNT title shows that. With him being in a trios match at All Out, Wardlow is going to need to focus on tonight in order to not have a disaster. Wardlow is teaming up with FTR to take on Jay Lethal and the Motor City Machine Guns at the pay-per-view. I think we are going to see either Lethal or the Motor City Machine Guns get involved in this match.
Ruby Soho and Ortiz have an opportunity to get revenge on Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo, F.K.A Tay Conti. Melo has targeted Soho in the past couple of months and even tried to break her arm by slamming a car door on it. Ortiz and Sammy have an interesting past as they were in a faction together called Inner Circle, but after the group broke up Sammy realigned himself with Chris Jericho joining the Jericho Appreciation Society. Since joining the Jericho Appreciation Society, Sammy and Ortiz have crossed paths numerous amounts of times. Sammy and Tay are AAA mixed tag team champions, so they have proved they know how to team together. Soho and Ortiz are friends, but they haven’t really teamed together so it’s unclear if they can operate on the same page.
Both of these teams are trying to make history by becoming the first-ever AEW trios champions. AEW is holding a tournament to crown the inaugural trios champions and with three out of the final four teams determined, both House of Black and Dark Order will be trying to punch their ticket to the next round. House of Black has proven they are a dominant force in AEW, while Dark Order has had a lack of success of late. Originally, it was supposed to be Number 10 teaming with John Silver and Alex Reynolds to take on House of Black, but in the recent update, Number 10 is missing from the graphic. Since AEW is still advertising it as Dark Order and not Dark Order and mystery opponent, I think Colt Cabana is going to be their third member.
After his shocking defeat on Dynamite, AEW is going to be airing exclusive footage of what transpired after they carried CM Punk out. Punk seemingly re-injured his foot during his AEW world championship match against Jon Moxley. It will be interesting to see what the footage is and how it plays into everything.
On last week’s episode of Rampage, Claudio Castagnoli held an open invitation for anyone to come out and have a match with him for the ROH world title. Dustin Rhodes came out and accepted the challenge. Before his win at Death Before Dishonor, Castagnoli had never held a world championship. Well, the same goes for Dustin Rhodes, who has been wrestling for over thirty years and has never held a world title. He gets a chance to change that as he takes on Castagnoli on AEW Rampage. Winning the title is going to be anything but easy. Castagnoli has proven he is one of the best wrestlers in the world and with Rhodes’ best years behind him, he gets to see how measures up to top talent in all of professional wrestling.
