AJ Styles Appears At Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary PPV 2022

AJ Styles made his return to Impact Wrestling at one of their biggest shows of the year last night, on June 19th. Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary is a celebration of the company’s long and storied history. This year was the 20th anniversary of the company, and they put on an iconic show to remember.

There were crazy spots, title changes, and surprise returns, but none more surprising than the phenomenal AJ Styles. Some of the most legendary wrestlers in Impact history paid their respects and talked about how much Impact Wresting meant to them and to their careers, including Sting, Kurt Angle, and AJ Styles.

AJ was voted the Most Impactful X Division Wrestler of the past 20 years by wrestling fans. There’s no hiding the fact that he is one of, if not the best, wrestlers in all professional wrestling history. AJ wrestled some of the leading wrestlers on the planet, and had countless incredible matches.

AJ is currently under contract with WWE, who are known for not working with other professional wrestling companies, so his appearance at Slammiversary was a big deal. Recently, WWE has shown a working relationship, of some sort, with Impact Wrestling. A few months ago, Mickie James, the Impact Wrestling Knockouts World Champion at the time, entered the Women’s Royal Rumble. AJ’s appearance is the first collaboration they’ve done since Mickie James’ appearance.

WWE letting AJ participate in Impact’s Slammiversary shows how much the company values him. Furthermore, he extended his contract with WWE, so this could partially be a thank you from the company to him. Impact Wrestling was and is a huge part of AJ Styles’ professional wrestling career, so it’s great to see that WWE allowed him to partake in the event. We can only hope this helps build more of a relationship between WWE and Impact Wrestling going forward.
