Apple TV: Is It Worth The Subscription Cost?

There are a ridiculous amount of streaming platforms out there. The streaming platforms are designed to replace cable. However, if you buy all of the streaming platforms, you’re spending WAY more money than cable. Apple TV is a newer streaming platform, but is it worth the subscription cost?

The positive is, Apple TV costs just $4.99. That’s cheaper than Netflix and Hulu. The main positive is the fact that they are the platform that carries Ted Lasso. If you don’t know what Ted Lasso is, that’s a damn shame.

Ted Lasso alone makes this worth it. That show is maybe my favorite show of all-time. I haven’t written a review for it yet but trust me, that show rocks. Ted isn’t the kind of leader I am but god is that show DEEP. I recommend it for everyone.

Having said that, it’s also easy to get a trial for it and just binge the hell out of that show. There are two seasons of Ted Lasso out currently with another season coming soon. If you buy an Apple device, it already comes with a TV sub for one year so that kind of takes care of itself.

The problem is, there just isn’t a big enough library yet on the streaming platform. I tried two other shows and they just weren’t it. I watched ‘See’ and ‘Schmigadoon!’. Both shows seemed like they were great ideas but not executed well. I think Apple TV will eventually be the home for great shows. They’re pulling in premier actors. These things just take time.

If you want to buy Apple TV, I don’t blame you. Ted Lasso is worth every penny. It’s just hard to justify it at the current moment because we need more on there than just Ted. Your best option is to buy a new apple device and get the subscription that way.
