Former Arizona defensive coordinator Todd Bowles will be the next head coach of the New York Jets. The deal will be for 4 years totaling 16 million. Bowles will run the Jets as a 3-4 defense so the necessary personnel is in place. Bowles became a hot name this season after drawing up creative blitz schemes in Arizona. Several NFL coaches have supported the hire being big advocators on the new coach.

“The guy is special,” one NFL coach said of Bowles, per ESPN’s Vaughn McClure. “People just don’t understand, they don’t make them like that anymore.”

The Jets will also have a pair of new coordinators this year. Former Bills head coach Chan Gailey will run the offense. Gailey is regarded as a brilliant mind helping Ryan Fitzpatrick land a huge contract despite his weak skill set. Kacy Rodgers the Dolphin defensive line coach will be the man in charge of the defense. The Jets will certainly be looking for a new quarterback this season. Will it possibly be Florida State’s Jameis Winston? Bowles will have to improve the awful Jet offense for him to last in New York despite his defensive expertise.
