2022 five-star recruit Kel’el Ware has announced his commitment to play basketball for the University of Oregon. The Little Rock native chose the Ducks over Memphis, Ole Miss, Texas, and hometown Arkansas.
Ware, a 7-0 center, is the No. 15 recruit in his class according to 247Sports, as well as the No. 3 center and No. 1 player from Arkansas of all 2022 recruits. His stock has shot up in the last few months. Ware reportedly enjoyed his official visit to Oregon back in June:
Everything was really nice out there. It was a big facility, you know, I saw the Nike facility and that is what they are known for. The weather was great over there, too. It was just really calm.

Ware moves very well for his size, playing above the rim to block shots on defense and finish on offense. In his junior season, he averaged 16.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 4.6 blocks per game. Defensively, he is a monster and has great instincts. He has room to grow offensively, but he has recently shown upside as a stretch big. Ware has a nice shooting touch and good post moves around the basket.
Kel’el Ware is the second top recruit to commit to Oregon Basketball this summer. Fellow 2022 five-star Dior Johnson committed to the Ducks back in June. Oregon continues to be a premier destination in the Pac-12, and fans should be excited about the future of the program.
