Aaron Rodgers Rips Packers Front Office In 2021 Training Camp

After a long and dramatic off-season, Aaron Rodgers showed up to Packers Training Camp and finally told his side of the story. The 37-year-old quarterback was very blunt with reporters in a Q&A and said he is angry with how the front office handled multiple different issues.

Rodgers was unhappy with how the Packers front office handled past free agents in their final years in Green Bay.

” I wanted to help the organization learn from the mistakes of the past in my opinion about how the out going veterans were treated. Just the fact that we didn’t reatain a number of players that I flet like were core players to our foundation and our locker room.”

Aaron Rodgers

He went on to listen to a dozen names of “exceptional players” that were not offered a contract or extremely lowballed. This issue has to touch home for Rodgers, while still an elite quarterback, he is in the second half of his career and does not want his legacy to be tarnished by a front office smear campaign.

“It progressed from there. I was looking for a commitment for the 2021 season and beyond, and that was not given to me. I didn’t want to become a laying duck quarterback coming off an MVP season.”

“I wanted to be a part of conversations involving free agents, which has never happened in my career… I have tried to pass along that information…. that has never been used so to say. I wanted to offer my services as a recruiter. Green Bay isn’t a huge vacation destantion, people are coming here to play with me.”

Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers has every right to be arrogant, and the fact that he has not been involved in recruiting EVER is just flat-out insane. Arguably a top 5 quarterback has no say in the team around him, such an idiotic situation going on over there. I can’t understand why Green Bays wouldn’t commit past 2021, he is still an extremely capable quarterback and that just isn’t changing anytime soon. But Rodgers is a “complicated fella” according to Mark Murphy so who knows what’s really going on.
