Kawhi Leonard is Mad At The Clippers Medical Staff – Sound Familiar?
While the Los Angeles Clippers dropped game five of the Western Conference Finals, their superstar was sitting in a suite watching with a straight face. One of the best players in the NBA is hurt, and Kawhi Leonard is supposedly mad at the medical staff because of the way they handled his most recent injury.
According to Skip Bayless on UNDISPUTED, Leonard has similar feelings now as he did a few years ago with the Spurs when he felt they mishandled his injury then.
“I have been told by a very good source that the first issue became Kawhi was unhappy with the Clippers medical staff, because he felt that they, early on, misdiagnosed and underplayed the extent of this knee injury.”

“I was also told, as I told you from day one when this happened, he’s gone. He’s going to need some type of surgery. I’m not sure exactly what the extent of it is. But he’s going to need surgery. So, he’s out for the rest of the playoffs”

If what Bayless says is true, that is very different than what the public had heard. Leonard has been essentially considered day to day despite rumors that he tore his ACL. Leonard requested a trade from San Antonio because of the Spurs medical staff, and how that he is going to be an unrestricted free agent, this summer might become a little more interesting.
If the “unquestionable best player in the NBA” is unhappy, that is a big problem in the player run league. I can’t see the Clippers handling this the same way the Spurs did, but I do think Steve Ballmer has to investigate this and make sure things are all clear with Leonard and the medical staff.
