The Fight of the Decade: Hasbulla vs Abdu Rozik

We all heard about the Logan Paul – Floyd Mayweather fight. Some of us watched as both TikTokers and YouTubers were pitted against each other on a scorecard to rival no scorecards. Others watched as the Nate Diaz and Leon Edwards fight went the distance. What all these fights have in common is drama, drama, and more drama. But none of it will come close to the fight of the decade, and potentially the fight of the century: Hasbulla vs Abdu Rozik.

The now social media influencers rose to fame over their beef in a pre-fight press conference earlier this year. The world watched as the two young men went face-to-face in one of the best press conferences that didn’t involve a Paul brother or Conor McGregor.

I mean just look at that thumbnail. It’s a masterpiece in clickbait and photoshop, and I can’t even read a word in Russian – I think that’s Russian.

If that doesn’t have you pumped for this fight, I don’t know what will. While the exact date and time of the event has yet to be determined, it is in the next day or two and we are all on the edge of our seats.

Hasbulla and Rozik both suffer from Growth Hormone deficiency – more commonly referred to as dwarfism – a genetic condition that is “caused by insufficient amounts of growth hormone in the body,” according to Johns Hopkins Medicine. Hasbulla is 18 years old, with Rozik, a Tajikistan singer, just a year younger at 17. The Russian teenager has been called the ‘Mini Khabib’, even taking pictures and appearing in videos with his moniker’s namesake, retired MMA fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The fight has since been criticized by both Russia’s Dwarf Athletic Commission and the head of the Sports Association of Young People of Russia, Ulyana Podpalnaya. She said this about the fight:

“It’s not like it’s even a show fight – they’re paid a lot of money and it’s a show for people to laugh. There’s nothing serious about it, it’s not a sport. It’s unethical, it’s wrong, from my point of view.”

Despite the criticism, the fight appears to still be on, and hundreds of thousands, potentially millions, of people will be tuning in to see who wins the fight between ‘Mini Khabib’ and his #1 foe.
