2019 WNBA Champion Natasha Cloud, re-signs with the Washington Mystics for a multi-year contract.
Cloud opted out of the 2020 WNBA season to focus on bringing awareness to social justice issues. She was a key factor in the Mystics 2019 WNBA Championship title.
She played in all 34 games the 2019 season, averaging 32.2 minutes per game, nine points, and 5.6 assists. Cloud became the Mystics all-time leader in assists with 617. The Washington Mystics selected Natasha Cloud in the second round of the 2015 WNBA draft.
“Signing Natasha to a multi-year contract is an important day for our team,” said Head Coach and General Manager Mike Thibault. “As the point guard, she is the engine that drives us – our pace on offense, the start of our defense, the energy at practice on a daily basis. Her constant quest to improve herself and our team was manifested in our march to a championship. Her passion for the game, as well as her passion for community leadership and social justice off the court, has made her an integral part of the Mystics connection with the fans and city of Washington, DC. We can’t wait to get started.”

With the multiple opt-outs for the 2020 season, the Mystics were 9-13. The Mystics only made it to the first round of the playoffs. The 2021 season can be a much better year for the Mystics.
The Mystics signed two-time WNBA Champion Alysha Clark, who will be a great asset to the team as an excellent three-point shooter and defender. Clark led the league two years in a row with the best 3-point field goal percentage.
With five-time WNBA All-Star, Tina Charles re-signing, and 2015 WNBA MVP winner Elena Delle Donne cleared to play, the Mystics can be a championship contender.
