The New York Jets have a big question mark in regards to the quarterback position next season. Do they give Bryce Petty or Christian Hackenberg a chance to start or do they go in a different direction? According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, the Jets have their eyes on Bucs backup Mike Glennon.
Glennon, 27, hasn’t had extensive playing time since his rookie year. The former 3rd round pick in 2013 is heading into unrestricted free agency this offseason and could be an option for teams looking for a starting quarterback. With Jameis Winston entrenched as the Bucs franchise quarterback, it remains a long shot that they will be able to retain his services. After Brock Osweiler got $72 million this offseason, who knows how much Glennon can cash in on.
Tyrod Taylor, A.J. McCarron, Tony Romo, and Jimmy Garapolo are just a few of the veteran QB’s expected to be available in some form or fashion. The Jets could choose to go a number of different routes at the quarterback position. If they don’t find one this offseason there could be some major staff changes the following year.
