Do Tik Tok Stars Actually Have Talent?

Tik Tok

Tik Tok
Do Tik Tok stars actually have talent? I don’t want to be old guy yelling at clouds but it just doesn’t add up to me.

I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t get Tik Tok. Outside of maybe spending five minutes scrolling through viral videos of say a random cat doing something funnier, it doesn’t make any sense to me. Am I officially old at the ripe age of 28?

See that’s just it. The other social media platforms can easily be explained. Facebook exists so that you can creep on people from high school. Even old people creep and make weird comments. Despite the fact that I don’t have one anymore, Facebook makes sense.

I can also rationalize Twitter. It’s a place to live Tweet sporting events of TV shows. Even the top sports reporters break news on Twitter and people get the information they need in a few seconds. Twitter makes sense to me.

Shit, I can even rationalize Only Fans. People have needs! It’s biological! Some are just creepier than others. Whether it’s something you’re into or not, it’s not hard to see why it exists.

For the life of me, Tik Tok stars will never make sense. We have an entire generation of millionaires that are famous because they were the first ones willing to go on camera and wiggle their dicks? That’s not hyperbole, that’s just fact.

Think about how crazy some of the lives that were changed. We have some kids who are just going about their high school drama and living life as a normal kid. An hour later they are being followed by paparazzi in Los Angeles. WTF?

Where is the actual talent that these people have? Owning this company and being in the media industry, I’ve gotten good at spotting talent. Whether that person is famous or not, I know talent when I see it.

Some people are good speakers or interviewers. Some people are good debaters. Some people are good writers. Those are tangible skills that are easy to spot. Tik Tok? Teenagers are millionaires because they can wiggle their dicks? How did this happen?

Just think about this for a second. We have a generation of teenagers that are so famous on Tik Tok that they afford big ass houses in Los Angeles and start content houses. The only thing they do all day is dance on camera. This isn’t professional dancing either. This is swing your arms and legs around to accomplish nothing.

I was a few credits short of completing a dance minor. Did I miss the boat here? Should I have kept with it and started Tik Toking when it became a thing? Would I have been a millionaire? Does that mean I’m actually talented at… dancing or is that not it?

It still begs the question; are these people talented? Recently I just did a post on Dave Portnoy feuding with Tik Toker Bryce Hall. To be honest, I didn’t know who the guy was until Portnoy interacted with him. Then I did some research on Hall.

This dude is an asshole. Hall got into a fight at a restaurant after a waiting asked Hall to stop vaping. Hall refused to stop and blew the smoke in his face. If Hall does this in public, you can only imagine what he does in his videos. Again… who or why does this guy have a following? Does he have any tangible talent outside of vaping in a guy’s face?

I’ve been researching the streets cause I don’t want to be old. I just don’t get it. Thus far, I’ve only found one piece of evidence that maybe suggests famous Tik Tokers could have talent. Are some of these people famous for no reason? Say what you want about Kim Kardashian. She put in work on Ray J and the rest took care of itself.

Dixie D’Amelio recently produced a song with Wiz Khalifa called One Whole Day. I gotta be honest, the shit is catchy.

Now this is some talent right here. If you can make a song Wiz Khalifa and can have the song stuck in my head, you have talent. Maybe there’s a reason the D’Amelio sisters are popular but I haven’t gotten that far yet.

It doesn’t get weirder than the Tik Tok world. Is this how the Boomers felt about the Millennials growing up? That’s the problem, I don’t want to be old guy yelling at clouds but I’m really not that old. Do Tik Tok stars actually have talent? Maybe it’s too early to know that answer to that question yet.
