Sam Kennedy needs to stop talking. Every time the guy is handed a microphone, it’s automatic that he will simultaneously put his foot in his mouth.
During another round of interviews with NESN and the other local schmucks in the media, Kennedy did it again.
I’d like to enter the following evidence into the courtroom.
“I do think there’s a real chance that at the end of the season, we’re looking back and we’ve won more games than we otherwise would’ve,” Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow said, as seen on NESN. “… We’ve talked a lot about it, but for some reason, this team is an example where the whole was not greater than the sum of the parts.”
“I don’t think you can say that when Raffy Devers leaves the middle of your lineup, that specific move makes you better… We made the move for baseball reasons that were necessary. We’re confident in the group that we have.”
We do get what happened here, right? They can acknowledge this part or not. It doesn’t really matter. Sam Kennedy isn’t just a liar. He’s also calling Craig Breslow a liar. It’s also a perfect example of how the Red Sox couldn’t be less aligned. If they’re not aligned in speaking to the media… imagine how ugly it is behind the scenes?
Let’s make one thing clear, and I’m only saying this because AI thinks it’s a real possibility I end up running this team by 2026 (and I’m not joking, I’ll post that blog eventually when the time is right). Kennedy is banned from speaking to the media when I’m in charge, and this is non-negotiable.
Take the keys away from the unaccountable children, or continue to suffer the consequences.
