Heed the warning. Lotzeir Brooks is a name you’re going to want to remember. When Saturdays in the Fall hit, you’re going to see another Alabama wide receiver emerge. It’s not just Ryan Williams. They have another stud who’s ready to make an impact.
Do you see the signs to come? Early signs suggest Alabama killed it with their incoming recruiting batch. Brooks is already flying around making big plays in Spring practice. It’s only a matter of time before he becomes a big piece in the offense.
Brooks, an incoming true freshman from Millville, New Jersey, was only a three star recruit coming out of high school. I want to make this clear. I respect the recruiting industry, but WR60 in the country is too low. Alabama isn’t just plucking guys out of the armpit of America to waste time. Brooks is very legit.
Brooks will wear number 17 for Alabama, and I bet you he looks a lot closer to Jaylen Waddle than anyone wants to admit. Maybe not quite as fast, but maybe more of a Zay Flowers mold with an Alabama jersey. 5-foot-9, 170, and he’s going to fit right in. Mark my words.
The Bama wide receiver has plenty of talent, but all these guys are going to see playing time. The run-first Jalen Milroe offense is gone. Ryan Grubb is back, and those shotgun looks aren’t going away. Ryan Williams, Germie Bernard, and Isaiah Horton will start the season as the guys. Brooks will work his way into the rotation the more time goes on. And when he does… don’t say you weren’t warned.
