Jalon Walker 2025 NFL Draft

Jalon Walker is considered one of the premier defensive players in this class (and for good reason). We’re going to get to the truth on the Georgia product, hopefully diagnose what we’re looking at here. I have so many of these types, so if you don’t mind, I’m going to get to the point now… so here is your 2025 NFL Draft profile on Walker!

Walker, 21, is an early declare after being a five star prospect coming out of high school. The Salisbury, North Carolina, native was the 26th overall player, third ranked linebacker, and second ranked player in the state during the 2022 cycle.

The vibes here are pretty similar to Jihaad Campbell, whom I just did a write-up on. Walker is very much a hybrid pass rusher / inside linebacker. Kirby Smart mixes and matches this defense a lot and Walker split snaps at both spots. In 2022, Walker was basically a special teams guy. The following year, he led the team with five sacks despite never being a starter. This past year was the full blow up Winning the Butkus Award, posting 60 tackles, and leading the team with 10.5 TFLs, 6.5 sacks.

This is also the thing about Georgia. They’re ridiculously loaded at linebacker. It’s to the point where it’s out of hand. Wait until you see what CJ Allen does here coming up. The Dawgs needed help getting sacks this year, and that’s what Walker went and did. His games against Texas showed plenty of flashes, and all the stock notes are there for you at the top.

No Combine workout for Walker, but I don’t think he was one that I needed to see. He checks in at 6-foot-1, 243, and hopefully will be deployed by a smart coach who knows they have a nice chess piece on their hands. He’s twitched up rushing the passer, and can play real linebacker. Still a bit raw but we’re also talking about a guy that hasn’t come close to hitting his ceiling yet.

Jalon Walker is a round one player to me. Guys like him just don’t grow on trees. Stay tuned to see where he lands on my big board.
