One former Dolphin replaces another. Jason Taylor is replacing Bob Griese on Miami Dolphins radio. The Hall Of Fame defensive end’s media career is returning to where his NFL career began, per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
The Miami Dolphins needed to replace Bob Griese as he decided to exit the broadcast booth at the age of 75. Griese had spent a great amount of time on radio broadcasts. Jason Taylor has no shortage of life time achievements, some include:
- All Time Sack Leader for the Miami Dolphins
- Hall Of Fame, First Ballot
- Defensive Player Of The Year
- Walter Payton Man Of The Year
- Member of the 2000’s All Decade Team
Jason Taylor also has experience in broadcasting as he has worked with ESPN and NBCSN in the past.
Taylor has been one of the greatest players in the history of the Miami Dolphins. Taylor spent all but two years of his career with the Miami Dolphins (One year with the Washington Football Team in 2008 and one year with the New York Jets in 2010). Throughout Taylor’s career he has collected 139.5 sacks, 520 total tackles, 68 pass deflections, 8 interceptions and 3 defensive touchdowns. Taylor has made 6 pro bowls, been a 1st team all pro 3 times in his career and 2nd team all pro once. He led the NFL in sacks once in 2002 and was the AFC Defensive player of the year twice, 2002 and 2006.
It seems that television and media runs in the family, as Jason Taylor’s sister Joy Taylor also has her place in mainstream media. Joy Taylor was on Skip and Shannon: Undisputed before being moved to The Herd with Colin Cowherd.
It’s fitting that a former Dolphin is now on the broadcast crew for the Miami Dolphins. This is a new chapter for Jason Taylor.
