It all comes down to this. A goofy format where two teams who would have been eliminated any other year are squaring off for the National Championship. Ohio State beat up Notre Dame 34-23 in a game that was over quickly. Screw intro paragraphs. We have lots to talk about so let’s get right to the 2025 NFL Draft Stock Report notes on the game!
Here are your 2025 NFL Draft Stock Report Notes on the National Championship!
Notre Dame:
Nothing surprising about this Riley Leonard performance. QB draw queen. Has nothing else beyond height and underrated speed. Not a real quarterback. Totally undraftable. The guy had nine carries in the first possession of the game. Literally can’t do anything else. It’s like so laughable that anybody values him as an NFL prospect. Notre Dame won’t miss him at all next year. Not a shot his gimmick bs works at the next level.
Honestly, it’s a disservice to share his box score stats because a lot of the throwing production came when the game was already out of reach. I’m not touching him on draft day.
Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price couldn’t get anything going. They also weren’t given a real chance. Three carries for Price. Four carries for Love. Tells you how quickly this game got out of hand.
Beaux Collins is so meh he makes me want to vomit. 32 yards of nothing.
Nothing really for Jordan Faison. One catch for six yards for Mr. Lacrosse. It was Jaden Greathouse who has emerged as the dude. Six catches for 128 yards and two scores for Greathouse. I’d imagine he’s back next year with a chance to boom this upcoming year.
Mitchell Evans finally did some things. Still late round TE written all over him.
Xavier Watts impressed me by far the most on this team. Eight tackles and had a beautiful pass breakup on a ball intended for Henderson down the field. Love this player. Can do everything with insane ball production. What I necessarily didn’t expect is for Jordan Clark to grow on me. Eye test wise, he hung in there really well against stud receivers. Christian Gray is the one who gave up more big plays including the sealing one to Jeremiah Smith.
Ohio State:
Again… I don’t care what anybody says. Will Howard sucks too. These two guys are basically clones of each other. Howard just looks more functional as a passer than Leonard because his weapons are the best in the country. QB draw queen. Brings nothing else to the table beyond size and okay wheels. Not going to be a thing at the NFL level. I hope I don’t need to remind people that Kansas State told this guy to go away because Avery Johnson is way better and younger.
I have no idea where people stand on TreVeyon Henderson but it should be obvious. After Nick Singleton announced he’s heading back to Penn State, Henderson is the RB1. I’m not sure how it’s even a question. This dude just has a burst 99% of other athletes don’t. It’s rare horse power with a complete back body. Has these subtle juke moves where he’s not even moving that far but keeps shaking dudes out of their shoes.
Quinshon Judkins played damn well too. Starting to make more plays in the passing game. I think he’s underrated in the power department. Has a mean streak to him when he wants to. Really good around the goal line. Had an awesome run to finish off the second touchdown. 11 carries for 100 yards and two scores for Judkins. Oh, and he caught a touchdown too. Put on a show when it counted most.
Emeka Egbuka with a bad fumble. It was more of the same. Possession guy. Six catches for 64 yards. Don’t want to keep repeating myself but there’s a line of demarcation here. Have no problem picking him but how high?
JT Tuimoloau was a freak again. Had a sack and two TFLs. Jack Sawyer was kept kinda quiet but you felt him out there if you watched. To me, it’s Tyleik Williams who may be more of a player than I thought. Had a TFL of his own. Only two sacks for this group but I think we’ve seen plenty from them all playoff.
Davison Igbinosun with another PI. He can’t help himself. Followed it up with another bad hold later. Herbie mentioned on the broadcast he’s up to 16 flags against now. Denzel Burke was fantastic. Don’t recall a big play he gave up all game. Caleb Downs is obviously the freak of the group but Burke is damn good in his own right.
Keep an eye on this Sonny Styles. He’s figuring this linebacker thing out. Converted DB who is really progressing. Nice range and makes plays. He just might be something.
