Hector Bellerín could be sold to fund Arteta transfer targets

FA Cup winners Arsenal could be on the verge of selling fullback Hector Bellerin to PSG in a £30 million move. The Spanish right-back has three years left on his current contract but has attracted interest from PSG, Bayern Munich, and Juventus. Manager Mikel Arteta could see the deal as too good to turn down as he looks to fund more moves in the transfer market.

The former Man City assistant manager has already signed Willian on a free transfer from London rivals Chelsea and recently sealed a £27 million deal for Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes. Arsenal are also likely to confirm the return of midfielder Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid in another year loan pretty soon as well.

The reported £30 million sale of Bellerin could help Arteta fund deals for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey who has been linked with the Gunners all summer and Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar. It would also give young academy prospect Ainsley Maitland-Niles much more game time, albeit at a position he would prefer not to play in. The Gunners also have recent signing Cedric as coverage and should Arteta decide to go with wingbacks next season would be more than covered.

It wouldn’t be a popular move with fans, however, as Hector Bellerin has become a fan favorite at the Emirates since joining from Barcelona as a teenager in 2012. But after finishing eighth last season Arsenal could use the money to strengthen other areas as they look to return to the top four in the Premiership next season.

Bellerin could be joined at the exit by Mesut Ozil who has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia side Al-Nassr. The German midfielder is reported to have been offered a £15 million a year contract from the Saudi side, but no fee with Arsenal has been released.
