Quinnen Williams Promises To Be Dominant For Jets

Which version of Quinnen Williams are we getting in 2020? The former number 3 overall draft pick was far from dominant as a rookie. After the contribution that Nick Bosa gave San Francisco, Jet fans want something similar from Quinnen. The former Alabama product promises to be dominant moving forward.

“I feel like I’m tapped into that zone, tapped into that level that I’m going to be unstoppable,” he said Wednesday during a Zoom call.

“This year, I’m feeling it, man,” he said. “I got my body right this offseason. I got my confidence back this offseason. I got a trainer who I’ve been training my butt off with. … I just feel it, man. I’m in great shape, great condition. I got my body fat down.

“I’m rocking and rolling. I feel myself being that person that they drafted me to be. I feel like I’m coming into that person — a dominant defensive tackle in the NFL.”

“I reconstructed every aspect of my life around playing football this year, being on the field this year and not making the same mistakes I made last year,” he said.

It was a bit of a rough offseason for Quinnen. In March, Williams was arrested at New York’s LaGuardia Airport for carrying an illegal fireman. I’m glad Williams is taking things seriously. Williams was too dominant in college to not turn into a good pro. Not even the Jets can screw this one up. After Jamal Adams was traded and CJ Mosley opted out, Williams is the player to watch on this defense. I think that it’s fair to say that Quinnen Williams is now the face of the Jets defense moving forward.
