Derek Jeter Hilariously Shuts Down Idiotic Colin Cowherd Rant

Derek Jeter is unsurprisingly one of the main faces of former players at the MLB All-Star this week. After a failed stint in the Marlins’ front office, the Yankees great is currently flourishing in the media industry. He fits right in with a MLB on Fox coverage group that includes legends like Alex Rodriguez and David Ortiz. However, he made headlines for a slightly different reason.

You do not have to look far on this site to find countless examples of Colin Cowherd being an idiot. However, he set his own trap here and walked right into it. Look at the whacky conversation he got himself into with Jeter below:

A Special Kind Of Delusion

He had this whole monologue planned comparing Paul Skenes to Nolan Ryan. In his head, he thought he would have a great conversation with a great hitter about what it’s like to face dominant pitchers. Instead, he gets embarrassingly shut down for getting the timeline completely wrong. For reference, the Hall-of-Fame pitcher had an impressively long career that ranged from 1966-1993. Jeter, on the other hand got drafted in 1992 and made his MLB debut three years later.

How in the world do you get this wrong if you’re Cowherd? You don’t even need to be an avid baseball fan to know that the prime of the Nolan Express spanned from the late 1960’s into the 70’s. It was a layup to name someone like Randy Johnson or Pedro Martinez instead. At some point it makes you think whether or not this is done on purpose in order to farm engagements and clicks online. The asinine moments continue to stack on top of each other and speak for themselves.

Colin Cowherd had the chance to have a really good segment on his show before the All-Star Game with the one and only Derek Jeter. Instead it’s yet another instance of his foolishness getting the best of him.
