Does Blake Fisher have a chance to thrive at the NFL level? Here is your 2024 NFL Draft Profile on the Notre Dame tackle! (Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports)

Blake Fisher 2024 NFL Draft Profile

Joe Alt is considered the big fish at tackle for the 2024 NFL Draft. We covered his profile here! Alt is getting a lot of hype but what about his running mate on the opposite side, Blake Fisher? We’re going to run through Fisher so enjoy his 2024 NFL Draft Profile below!

Oh, how people forget. It’s the 2021 college football season and Blake Fisher is named as the first true freshman in Notre Dame history to start at left tackle. Just your friendly reminder that Notre Dame viewed Fisher as the better player over Alt, once upon a time. It didn’t last long. Fisher tore his meniscus in the season opener and then ended up redshirting. Alt eventually took over that left tackle spot a few games in.

Fisher returned from the knee injury and eventually became the starting right tackle for the next two years after. The redshirt sophomore is probably better suited for right tackle anyway. At least from what you saw at the Combine. Maybe there are still some lingering effects from that lower body injury. Definitely looked stiff in the movement stuff and is a limited pure athlete.

Fisher ran a 5.20 at the Combine. More so we saw how limited he is in terms of lower body explosion. Jumped just 28 inches on the vertical. Didn’t bench either and needs to get stronger. Not an explosive athlete but actually was okay in terms of his kick step and opening up the hips.

The Avon, Indiana native checks in at 6-foot-6, 310, with over 34 inch arms. He was rated as a former four star guy and the number one overall player in the state. With Fisher, he should probably be viewed as a lump of clay. He still looks incredibly raw with plenty of room to grow. Has the tools but sometimes his body gets away from him and loses the rep. Needs to be a bit more compact and dialed in. In his current form, he’s going to lose against speed rushers and overpowered by strong bull rush guys. Has good hand work and pass block sets are mostly clean but still needs to grow and develop in a multitude of ways.

I like Blake Fisher but I’m not panicking to go get him. He’s a developmental prospect that you hope helps you down the line. I have a 4th/5th round grade on the player. If I need a right tackle prospect to stash for a later date, he’s your guy. The potential is there. Just not sure he can help you for a while.
