Quinshon Judkins Enters The Transfer Portal
Things were looking up for Ole Miss. They just smashed Penn State in the Peach Bowl. They also have an unbelievable incoming transfer class that includes Walter Nolen. This time, a transfer is actually departing the program and it’s not good news for the Rebels. Stud running back Quinshon Judkins has entered the transfer portal. Judkins cannot enter the NFL yet so it appears he’s leaving the program entirely.
Judkins announced the news himself via social media. It’s worth noting how big of a deal this is given the fact that he became the first SEC player since Herschel Walker with 15+ touchdowns in each of his first two college seasons.
This is a huge loss for Ole Miss. Mostly because Ulysses Bentley IV is graduating. Ole Miss really has no other proven option now at the running back spot. We’re talking about 31 rushing touchdowns over the last two years. We’re talking about 1,567 rushing yards as a true freshman. Good luck replacing that. They’re going to have to find a running back somehow, someway.
The positive is that Ole Miss is returning most of their team otherwise. It includes most of the offense. Jaxson Dart, Tre Harris, Dayton Wade, and Caden Prieskorn will all be back next year. Replacing Judkins will be a tough task but Ole Miss should be a contender in the SEC next year if they’re able to do so. I guess that’s the most surprising part of the transfer. The fact that Ole Miss was on the rise and were ready to prove they’re legitimate contenders in 2024.
Judkins is expected to be one of the first running backs taken in the 2025 NFL Draft.
