Can Dylan Raiola Save Nebraska?

Number one quarterback recruit Dylan Raiola flipped from Georgia to Nebraska. We know that Raiola has family ties with Nebraska. However, can he actually help save the Cornhuskers program? That’s probably the question we should be asking because it won’t be an easy task.

Does anybody understand how bad Nebraska was at passing the ball this past year? Yes, some of that was because of how brutal Jeff Sims was. We documented that a bunch during the season. Still, I’m not sure one singular player can save this passing attack. Especially a true freshman.

130: Air Force (88.3)

129: Army (102.8)

128: Navy (105.7)

127: Iowa (123.2)

126: Nebraska (135.9)

Do we understand how tragic that is? Nebraska threw the ball worse than every single team that wasn’t Iowa and the service academy. Doesn’t that say everything right there?

Look, the positive is that Matt Rhule is a respectable collegiate coach. He won at Temple and Baylor. He’s notoriously known for being a slow starter too. It’s just hard to not view Raiola as the savior considering how bad this passing attack was a year ago.

Dylan Raiola Just Changed Nebraska Football Forever

Maybe Raiola can save it. It just seems like a high ask out of a true freshman. Even if Raiola is a stud, the rest of the organization is going to have to improve from the top down. Getting Raiola was a start. Now it’s time to build a real program.
