2024 Copa America U.S. Stadiums Announced

Starting June 20, the 2024 Copa America, South America’s biggest international football tournament, will be coming Stateside. Following a release Monday afternoon, we now know the 14 stadiums that will be hosting matches.

Before the Monday announcement, it had already been announced that the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga., would be hosting the opening match of the tournament. It was also announced that Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium would be hosting the final on July 14.

The 14 stadiums are being split into three regions across 10 states.

Alongside Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Hard Rock Stadium, the East Coast zone includes MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C., and Exploira Stadium in Orlando, Fla. Three of the five stadiums will be used as venues for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as well.

The Central Zone has five stadiums in three states. There are three stadiums in Texas: AT&T Stadium in Arlington, NRG Stadium in Houston and Q2 Stadium in Austin. Kansas and Missouri have one stadium each on their half of the Kansas City border. On the Kansas side, Children’s Mercy Park will be the venue used, while GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium will be used on the Missouri side. Arrowhead Stadium, NRG Stadium, and AT&T Stadium will all be host venues for the 2026 World Cup.

The West Coast Zone will have four stadiums across three states. Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., and SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., are “The Golden State’s” two venues for both the 2024 Copa America and the 2026 World Cup. Along with them Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev., and State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., will play host.

The 2024 Copa America will see 16 teams from South America and North America collide. Argentina and Lionel Messi are the reigning champions after they won the 2021 Copa America Final against Brazil 1-0.

The U.S., Mexico, Panama, and Jamaica have all qualified from CONCACAF with two more teams from North America set to qualify in the March playoffs. All 10 CONMEBOL nations have qualified for the 2024 Copa America, headlined by Brazil and defending World Cup champions Argentina.
