Ex-Teammate Not Suprised Kristaps Porzingis Is Thriving With Celtics

It sure seems like Kristaps Porzingis was a fan favorite in Washington DC. One former teammate with the Wizards has since spoken out and made sure to let us know that he loves KP. Kyle Kuzma has now entered the chat.

“KP, man, he’s such a great dude,” Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma told reporters after Porzingis and the Green earned a 126-107 victory at Capital One Arena, per Celtics reporter Taylor Snow. “He made a huge impact here, he was a great locker room guy. Everybody loved him.”

“I’m happy for him. He has a chance to really do something that he wants to do in his career,” Kuzma told reporters. “He’s never really had that opportunity to play on a contending type of team. And he fits in seamlessly over there, not really having to do too much — blocking a few shots, hit a few threes. He just looks like he’s having a lot of fun so I’m happy for him.”

This story comes on the heels of Jayson Tatum calling the team “lucky” to have landed Porzingis. I think the rest of the NBA landscape has been shocked by how good KP has been with the Celtics. Can’t say the same about Trey.

Porzingis really might be the missing piece to Banner 18. It’s a great time to have Celtic pride. The Celtics are 3-0 to start the 2023-24 NBA Season are have all the potential to lift the Larry O’Brien Trophy at the of the year. In fact, I think they’re winning it.
