Cristiano Ronaldo To The WWE?

Is Cristiano Ronaldo, the footballing legend, getting involved with the WWE?

Apparently, the WWE is currently working on a deal to have Ronaldo participate in the company’s Crown Jewel event this November. The Crown Jewel is being held in Saudi Arabia, and with the impact Ronaldo has had in the country, the WWE is looking to capitalize by including the Portuguese superstar in the program.

Ronaldo made headlines earlier this year when it was announced that he would be leaving European football to move to Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, which was relatively unknown and had little respect in the footballing world.

However, following Ronaldo’s move, the Saudi Pro League made a giant splash in the transfer market this summer. World-class players like Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kanté and Neymar highlight the list of high-profile players who also made the leap to Saudi Arabia this summer. Portugal’s star man has permanently changed the profile of the Saudi Pro League, and the WWE now looks to capitalize on his popularity by inviting him to the Crown Jewel event.

This might come as a surprise. After all, Ronaldo has no ties to professional wrestling. However, members of the WWE think he would be a perfect addition to the company. Apollo Crews has previously stated that he thinks Ronaldo has the right mentality to compete in the WWE. He has also previously been called out by WWE star Sheamus.

The Al-Nassr man would not be the first non-wrestler to have been invited to the Saudi Arabian event. Previously, the WWE has extended invitations to former two-time UFC Champion Cain Velasquez and World Boxing Council Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury. While these are big names, they pale in comparison to Ronaldo.

If you are both a footballing and a WWE fan, then hold on to your seat. The legendary Cristiano Ronaldo soon be heading to the Wrestling Ring.
