Luis Robert Wants You To Know He’s Not A Leader

Luis Robert is maybe the only quality baseball player the Chicago White Sox have on their entire roster. The problem is that he’s a hot dog and has no ability to lead this team out of the darkness. Better yet, Robert is literally telling us that he’s not a leader.

“I don’t see myself as a leader,” Robert said Tuesday, according to Vinnie Duber of CHGO Sports. “I try to do my job and be on the field and do the things that we should all push to do and maybe be an example for others. But I don’t see myself as a leader.”

I guess I appreciate the honesty. The problem is someone in Chicago has to lead. That doesn’t appear to be the manager who claims the team sucks because of him. That’s not even including the wild rumors that have come out like this one below.

How bad must your culture be for these things to keep happening? The craziest part is the White Sox don’t even appear ahead of where they were with lunatic Tony La Russa. How is that possible!?!

Robert, 26, is playing his tail off too. The Dominican born outfielder has a career high 32 home runs and 16 steals on the season. He’s also a 5.0 WAR player through 114 games.

Robert won’t be a free agent until after the 2027 MLB Season. If Robert can’t elevate the group in Chicago and lead, maybe it’s time to think about dealing him to a contender so he can just go play ball for a team that has a solid culture.

Just saying… Chicago could get a haul for him too.
