Frank Reich ‘Super Pumped’ About Potential Of Parris Cambell

What should we make of Parris Campbell? He was a bit of a mystery going into the draft process a year ago. He still reminds me a lot of Curtis Samuel and should be used in a similar way. Campbell should be a vital part of the offense but we still don’t know exactly how good Campbell can become. His head coach is very excited about his development.

Frank Reich says he is ‘super pumped’ about the potential of Parris Campbell. It’s clear Indianapolis thinks highly of him:

I’m super pumped about Parris and where the upside is,” Reich said Tuesday, via 107.5 The Fan. “We didn’t get to see him enough (last year). He was hurt a lot. I’m proud of the way Parris has been handling the offseason. He’s been doing everything possible. He’s working out hard. I’m staying very much in touch with him, and with the trainers and what he’s doing and watching that whole process unfold. He’s really determined.

“He still has to have things go his way and stay healthy. He missed a lot of practice time, too. It wasn’t just that he missed games. He missed a lot of practice time. He missed most of the (2019 offseason program). We’ve been around him enough, I see things in Parris, I see really good wide receiver skills.”

I still see a Curtis Samuel type potential for Parris Campbell. Both were former Buckeyes and Campbell was a former 4 star running back recruit in high school Samuel played both wide receiver and running back at Ohio State. I’m more curious to see how Reich is going to use him because Nyheim Hines could be that shifty short yardage target.

If Campbell pops and Michael Pittman works out, this should be a good wide receiver core. That would also assume that TY Hilton returns and can stay on the field. The Colts are a really tough team to figure out and players like Parris Campbell will have a lot to do with how their season goes.
