Manchester United star to join Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Pro League just keeps on adding star power this summer. Alex Telles will be the next man to move to the league, according to Fabrizio Romano. He will join his former Manchester United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr for a fee of €4 million ($4.4 million).

Telles joined Manchester United in October 2020 from Portuguese side Porto. The 30-year-old left-back has since made over 50 appearances for United. His lone goal for the club against Villareal in the Champions League.

Despite many thinking Telles would be a success at United, things did not go according to plan. He struggled for game time, finding himself unable to usurp Luke Shaw as the club’s starting left-back.

With things looking bleak at United, he joined Sevilla on loan for the 2022-23 season. He did have success with Sevilla, helping them win the Europa League. However, despite a strong season with Sevilla, United manager Erik ten Hag still saw no room for Telles in his squad. United has decided to cash out, and Telles will now be moving to Saudi Arabia.

His move to Al-Nassr will reunite the Brazilian with his former United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo has been at Al-Nassr since last January and looks to have been the catalyst for multiple high-profile players to move to the Saudi Pro League this summer.

Alongside Telles and Ronaldo, Al-Nassr has also signed Marcelo Brozović from Inter Milan and Seko Fofana from Lens. The club is looking to avenge its disappointing second-place finish in the Saudi Pro League last season, and its ambitious signings have shown Al-Nassr’s determination to come out on top next year.
