EA FC 24 Cover Athlete Revealed

The soccer gaming landscape is a bit different after the release of FIFA 23. FIFA and Electronic Arts have split and they will be releasing separate games. Now, Electronic Arts’ new game series will be called EA FC 24. EA FC 24’s official announcement trailer came out on July 10. Finally, today the official gameplay trailer has arrived and fans learned who will be the EA FC 24 cover athlete: Erling Haaland

This is not the biggest surprise as Haaland is widely regarded as the best soccer player in the world. This Norwegian player is only 22-years-old, but his talent is already surpassing some of the other best players in the Premier League. Haaland played for Borussia Dortmund from 2020-2022, totaling 67 caps with 62 goals in that time with that club.

Now, he plays for Manchester City and he had an unbelievable first year with the club. Haaland scored 36 goals in 35 caps with Manchester City. He now holds the record for most goals scored in a Premier League season. Furthermore, he passed Alan Shearer’s record of 34 goals which was accomplished back in the 1994-95 season. Also, Haaland helped lead Manchester City to a UEFA Champions League Title with 12 goals in 11 matches.

Without a doubt, Haaland is an amazing athlete and one of the most skilled players in the world. It makes sense why he is the EA FC 24 cover athlete.

EA Sports FC is gaining hype behind their recent rollout of multiple trailers and releasing the cover athlete. This will be a new-look game since they will not be using the FIFA title anymore. However, EA Sports FC will still have licensing to all types of teams and kits so that will not be an issue for soccer fans.

On the other hand, there is not much information known about the next FIFA game. It will likely not be released this year and gamers will have to wait for next year. The FIFA and EA break up is not the worst thing to happen.

Now, there will be two different soccer games on the market which should force these two games to compete for fans, therefore, forcing the companies to improve their game. However, for now, sports fans will be able to try out EA FC 24 with Erling Haaland on the cover and see how they feel about the new game.
