Shake Milton signs two-year deal worth $10 million with Minnesota Timberwolves

Shake Milton signs two-year deal worth $10 million with Minnesota Timberwolves

After a career with the Philadelphia 76ers, the Minnesota Timberwolves have swooped in once again in free agency. Minnesota has signed veteran shooting guard Shake Milton to bolster up their backcourt on a two-year $10 million deal. Milton will become a very nice touch alongside Anthony Edwards for Minnesota. Via Woj.

In one of the more underrated signings we have seen this NBA free agency, former 76ers shooting guard Shake Milton joins the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Last season, Milton saw a very similar usage rate like he did in the 2021-22 season. Only averaging around a minute less per game, Milton still continued to shine for Philadelphia, if not brighter. In his slim chance during the game, Milton made the most out of them, shooting a rate of 48% from the field and 38% from beyond the arc. Highlighting his shooting expertise.

Milton played in almost every game last season, only seven shy of a perfect rate. Although he played in almost every game, he started very few. Only 11 to be exact. In those 76 games played, Milton averaged around eight points per game, three assists, and three rebounds for the 76ers.

Now, that shooting touch is on its way to Minnesota. The Timberwolves shot the ball surprisingly well last season, based on their recent history at shooting. Minnesota was able to shoot almost 37% from deep as a team last season, adding Milton as a backup shooting guard will add depth, defense, and shooting off the bench.

Will the signing of Shake Milton pay off for the Timberwolves? How has your team done in free agency? Let us know in the comments down below.
