Not even SportsCenter anchors are safe today. Neil Everett won’t be the only SportsCenter host getting axed during the most recent cycle of ESPN Layoffs. Ashley Brewer has been fired and is just one of several names being fired by ESPN today.
Brewer took to social media and was the first to announce the news of her departure.
I am so grateful for my time at ESPN and the opportunity to host Sportscenter. I learned and grew so much as a broadcaster and person. I will really miss all of the wonderful friends I made along the way.

I know God has a plan for my life and I look forward to what’s next.

Brewer, 31, is apparently a big deal on Tik Tok too. The timing on it isn’t exactly ideal. Brewer is a Phoenix Arizona native. She likely met Frank Kaminsky there whom she is set to marry in like a week. Not exactly the type of news you want right before your wedding. The good news is they probably don’t have to worry about the money portion either way. Those NBA checks got it covered.
Brewer has been a SportsCenter anchor since September 2020. Prior to that, she was a host for SportsNation and GameNight. Brewer isn’t the only host being let go today. Suzy Kolber of Monday Night Football also has been released from her duties.
It’s been a busy day of firings at ESPN. We’ll continue to update you here at VSM for all the firings that go down today. Thanks for reading and stay tuned. We’re not done yet.
