Trending Restaurant: Witch Topokki
Attention all tteokbokki fans! A new, trending restaurant called Witch Topokki has opened up in Flushing! It’s an all-you-can-eat Korean tteokbokki restaurant and it is an absolute must-go. Witch Topokki, located on Northern Blvd, opened up a few months ago and is already topping the charts for tteokbokki fans. As a fellow tteokbokki lover, this place piqued my interest immediately. All-you-can-eat tteokbokki for under 30 dollars? That sounds like a dream come true.
My Experience
Me and my friend ventured 40 minutes from Manhattan to Flushing, to try out this new hot spot. We got seated immediately, however, just a few minutes later a line formed. I would recommend preparing to wait for at least 30 minutes when coming to this walk-in joint, as they don’t take reservations. The server informs us how the restaurant works. Essentially, you start with two bowls—one to put your sauces in, and one to put your toppings in. You bring the bowls to the buffet and fill each to your liking, with your own freedom. There are many sauces to choose from, and you can mix them however you like. From curry to rose, there are endless options to tweak your tteokbokki meal to your exact liking. After you get your sauce ready, you can get your toppings. This is where the magic happens.
There are tons of different rice cake options, including sweet potato and whole wheat. The possibilities are endless. After that, they have vegetables, cheeses, noodles, and more, to create your own bowl of heaven. And for the cherry on top, they have a whole other counter of hot fried foods such as gimmari, pizza, and others. There are also more ramen options to finish your soup off with some tender noodles.
Then you take it back to your seat to cook it and wait to see what magic happens. The bowls are endless. I just kept going for more and more. I would highly recommend taking the commute to visit Witch Topokki in Flushing. It’s worth it.
