Is TY Hilton a fantasy sleeper in 2020? Hilton did not have a great 2019 season. Injuries and inconsistent quarterback play put a damper on his stock. Make no mistake about it, the Colts haven’t forgotten about him. Offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni made sure to reaffirm his trust in Hilton.
Sirianni jumped on a conference call to talk about Hilton’s role heading into 2020:
“I expect a great bounce back from a year he had a lot of injuries,” Sirianni said. “I expect the 2018 version of him. If T.Y. stays healthy, there’s no doubt that’s what we’ll see. . . . He’s still the main piece of this offense. T.Y. Hilton is who this pass offense runs through.”
Maybe this is something that should have been obvious but I’m glad Sirianni said it. There are reasons to doubt Hilton after last season. Philip Rivers should provide a more consistent QB presence. If Hilton stays healthy, he should be the top option. Michael Pittman doesn’t change that.
The Colts are one of the tougher teams to figure out. Are they going to be a run heavy offense with Jonathan Taylor and Marlon Mack? If so, maybe this little quote means nothing. It would make sense given the fact that they invested in the offensive line heavy. It’s hard to get a good read on the Colts.
You would think TY Hilton has to put together a better 2020 season than 2019 season. In 10 games, Hilton had 45 receptions for 501 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was basically fantasy relevant all year. It’s fair to wonder if he has any more big seasons left. The former Florida International product will enter his age 31 season and has been hurt a bunch in recent years.
