This is one of my favorite sleepers for fantasy in the 2020 NFL season. He had a stellar season last year with the Dolphins. He was 11th in WR fantasy point last year. He was a sleeper last year and he’s going to have the same stigma going into this year. But why should you draft DeVante Parker you ask?
Devante Parker Stats
In the 2019 NFL season, Devante Parker had 70 receptions. Probably not screaming at you at elite for fantasy. But 70 receptions paired with 1200 receiving yards and 9 TDs are definitely eye-popping. Especially for a WR not expected to make that much of fantasy production. He broke 100 yards receiving in a game in week 11. In the last 6 games of the season, half of those he 100-receiving games. May I add that in the last 8 games of the season, there were only 2 games where he didn’t have more than 10 targets? In one game he even had FIFTEEN targets. This is just screaming sleeper. ESPN at the moment has him actually getting 40 fewer fantasy points this year. HOW?!
QB Change
ESPN having him scoring 40 fewer points this year makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. The man had Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing to him all year. Yes, I love the memes about FitzMAGIC but come on now. He’s no Tua Tagovailoa, one of the best QBs in the 2020 NFL Draft. Whenever a WR gets a better QB, his fantasy production soars because that QB is trusted more to throw the ball. So naturally, not only will Parker’s fantasy production NOT diminish, it should soar.
Final Assessment
DeVante Parker is one of my favorite WRs to get this year. If you can snag him late in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th round, I think you got a STEAL. DeVante Parker is looking at close to a 100 reception, 1,200 receiving yard, 10 TD season. Don’t worry, I’ll do the math for you, that is a 280 point season. That’s projecting a 40 point increase from last year. If you listen to ESPN, they might make you lose out on a top WR prospect. You listen to me, you might win your league. Parker, crazy as it sounds, has the potential to be a top 5 fantasy WR this year. I put his absolute floor at top 10. Do not miss this sleeper. It could win your league.
