People were expecting All-Pro Tight End Rob Gronkowski to return from his retirement and that’s exactly what happened. However, he won’t be playing for the Patriots. Tuesday afternoon the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed to trade a 4th round pick for Gronkowski and a 7th round pick.

Tom Brady is now more likely to follow Bruce Arian’s motto of “No risk it no biscuit” with his favorite weapon of all time. Gronkowski has caught the most 79 touchdown passes from Tom Brady, the most of any target. To put it into perspective, the next closest is Randy Moss with 39. This trend continues into the postseason with Gronk having 12 TD catches from Brady. Second place is David Givens with 9. A Brady to Gronk connection should instill fear in everyone, especially the NFC South.

Gronkowski is also coming back healthy after essentially taking the 2019 season off. Having time to recover from his past injuries, Gronk is poised to add to his already Hall of Fame resume. It is unsure how much longer he is looking to play, but going all in for this year and next year is the right move for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Uniting with his friend and former Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady, Tampa Bay is turning into a juggernaut and a force to be reckoned with in the NFC South. With Pro Bowl wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, along with Tight Ends OJ Howard and Cameron Brate it seems the Buccaneers are going all in with Tom Brady. Keep an eye on Tampa Bay as they continue to build around Tom Brady as they also have the 14th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Gronk will be 31 by the start of the 2021 season.
